The secret to these biscuits is patience. The recipe uses food colouring and you can choose your own colour. I will tell you how to make an interesting biscuit.

Cool the finished biscuits and then serve them. You can use some food colouring. Add a flavouring to the food colouring ball, for example red or pink is great with raspberry or strawberry extract and green with mint extract.

Ingredients:

  • Sugar – 250gm
  • Butter – 230gm
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Eggs – 1 Egg
  • Flour – 3 Cup
  • Red food colouring – 0,5 teaspoon
  • Raspberry extract – 0.5 teaspoon

Preparation:

  1. In the mixer bowl add butter, sugar, vanilla extract, baking powder, salt and beat until smooth.
  2. Beat in the eggs and mix, then add the flour, mixing on a low speed.
  3. Take the dough out of the bowl and divide it into 2 portions. Return one part to the bowl, add the liquid food colouring and raspberry extract. Stir on low speed until smooth. Wrap both pieces of dough in clingfilm and leave for 3 to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Place the coloured ball on the parchment and cover with the second piece of parchment and roll out into a rectangle. Do the same with the white ball.
  5. Carefully transfer the white dough onto the coloured dough ball.
  6. Trim off any rough edges on all sides.
  7. Roll up both sheets of dough into a roll. Place the dough in the refrigerator for a few hours.
  8. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and cut the rolls into small pieces.
  9. Place the slices on a baking tray and bake in a preheated 180 degrees oven for 10-12 minutes.
  10. Cool the biscuits before serving and store at room temperature for up to 1 week.
