Quick Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

For the chocolate glaze:

  • 1 cup butter salt, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 4-6 tablespoons whole milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients, then add the wet ingredients and stir until smooth.3. Add boiling water until a soft dough forms.

  1. Divide the dough into cake tins and bake for 30-35 minutes.
    5.Cool the cakes and then prepare the icing by creaming together the butter, powdered sugar, cocoa, salt, vanilla and milk.
  2. Cover the cake and decorate it as you wish.
