Date Cake

Ingredients
1 ½ cups water
1 ½ cups raisins
¾ cup dates, pitted and chopped
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ cup butter
¾ cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter
½ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons heavy cream
½ cup chopped walnuts
Step 1

Spread combination over heat cake and location underneath broiler till gently browned, about three minutes. Watch cautiously – it burns without difficulty underneath the broiler. Cool earlier than serving.
