Date Cake


1 ½ cups water
1 ½ cups raisins

¾ cup dates, pitted and chopped
1 teaspoon baking soda


½ cup butter
¾ cup white sugar

2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter
½ cup brown sugar


2 tablespoons heavy cream
½ cup chopped walnuts

Step 1
